Where and when is packet pick up?

Runners can pick up their packets on Saturday, March 23 from 10:00AM – 1:00PM at Fleet Feet Maine Running in Portland.

Everyone can pick up packets at Thornton Academy Gym on race day, beginning at 10:00 AM.

How much does it cost to enter?

The Walker’s registration fee is $25.
The Runner’s registration fee is $35. 
Children 13 may participate for free!
Registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Is there a fundraising deadline?

Yes. To determine top fundraising individuals and teams for event day, our fundraising deadline is midnight, March 20th. To qualify for fundraising incentives, participants have until event day, March 24th, for online donations or to turn in funds at registration.

Do I have to fundraise?

No. Everyone is welcome to participate, but we strongly encourage people to try fundraising. You will be surprised how easy it is to raise $50 or 100 dollars just by asking friends and family.

Should I Walk or Run?

It's up to you! The 5K race begins in front of the Kerrymen Pub and offers chip-timing. The Walk begins in front of Thornton Academy.

How do matching gifts work?

The matching gifts process is initiated by the donor who contacts his/her company’s human resources department for paperwork and/or procedures. The matching gift information is then sent by the donor or company to Maine Cancer Foundation ([email protected]) for validation and credit to the participant’s fundraising efforts.

I would like a Mary’s Walk t-shirt. How can I get one?

You can get an official Mary's Walk/Kerrymen 5K shirt by registering before Feb 1, 2019.

When is the registration deadline?

Online registration will close Wednesday, March 20 at 5pm. Participants can also register at the event on race day.

Who was Mary Kerry Libby?

Mary Kerry Libby was well known for her friendly smile, gracious charm and kindness. A much-loved mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend, Mary lost her courageous battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma on March 7, 1997 at the age of 44. The first Mary’s Walk was held on the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day in March 1999.

How many people attend Mary’s Walk?

The event has grown every year, and is now the biggest cancer walk in Maine. In 2018, Mary's Walk saw more than 2,500 registered participants.
