Yes. To determine top fundraising individuals and teams for event day, our fundraising deadline is midnight, March 15. To qualify for fundraising incentives, participants have until event day, March 19, for online donations or to turn in funds at registration.
No. Everyone is welcome to participate, but we strongly encourage people to try fundraising. You will be surprised how easy it is to raise $50 or 100 dollars just by asking friends and family.
The matching gifts process is initiated by the donor who contacts his/her company’s human resources department for paperwork and/or procedures. The matching gift information is then sent by the donor or company to Maine Cancer Foundation ([email protected]) for validation and credit to the participant’s fundraising efforts.
You can get an official Mary's Walk shirt by registering by January 31, 2023.
Online registration will close Wednesday, March 15 at 5pm. Walkers can also register at the event on race day.
Mary Kerry Libby was well known for her friendly smile, gracious charm and kindness. A much-loved mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend, Mary lost her courageous battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma on March 7, 1997 at the age of 44. The first Mary’s Walk was held on the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day in March 1999.
The event has grown every year, and is now the biggest cancer walk in Maine. In 2019, our last live year, Mary's Walk saw more than 2,500 registered participants.
